For more and detailed instructions, refer to the separate user manual for your machine which provides guidance as needed.
The machine doesn’t start/ no function. What action should I take?
- Make sure that the power cord is connected.
- Check the On / Off Button, if it’s in off position, switch it to on.
- Check the safety fuse F1. If activated you need to reset it by pressing the button. Contact Support if the safety fuse activates again.
The Height Adjustment System doesn't work. What action should I take?
- Check main power.
- System unbalanced, level the table.
- System overloaded, clean table from loose objects and unnecessary weight.
- If Duty cycle monitoring is activated, you need to wait 20 minutes.
If it still isn’t working you need to reset it:
- Disconnect power supply to the table, wait 60 seconds.
- Press down button 3 times. [Height-adjustable Controller]
- Connect power supply, wait 25-30 seconds (the system detects that everything is connected).
- Press the down button and run the table into the lowest position. Press the button during the whole process until the legs do a small motion up/down. IMPORTANT! Make sure the legs do a small motion before releasing the button, otherwise the reset is uncompleted. Repeat step 4 until the motion is done.
- Repeat the reset once again , to be sure that all the legs are in the lowest position.
- Now the system should be ok. If not, contact ROLLSROLLER® Technical support.
The Roller won’t move up and down. What action should I take?
- Reset the emergency stop function.
- Check air supply and verify pressure in the system.
The Roller motion goes up and down unevenly. What action should I take?
- Check air pressure.
- Check green indicator lamp on the glide beam.
- Look for leaking air connections.
- Adjust the roller speed.
The machine pulls unevenly during application. What action should I take?
- Check bearing play in the glide beam.
- Check green indicator lamp on the glide beam, if its not activated during application you need to build upp pressure.
- Perform a cross measurement of the roller.
Machine creating creases/bubbles on the applied material. What action should I take?
- Perform a cross measurement of the roller.
- Perform a pressure test and see if the roller presses evenly.
- Check quality of the vinyl/material. Has the liner been exposed to moisture?
- Try different method how to apply the vinyl.
- If applying on boards, check thickness tolerances from the manufacturer of the boards.
- Dust the cutting mat with talcum powder if the material sticks to it, make sure the material/vinyl can “float” on the cutting mat during application.
Why is my vinyl or application tape forming wave-shaped patterns during application?
Potential Causes:
- Handling: Incorrect handling can lead to improper application. Ensure that the operator is following the correct procedure. See user manual.
- Tension in the Paper Liner: High humidity or faults in the vinyl production can cause tension, leading to wrinkles.
- Alignment Issues: Misalignment of the [Glide Beam] and [Roller] can result in uneven pressure, causing waves.
- Air Supply/Pressure Issues: Insufficient or irregular air pressure can affect the application process.
- Surface Issues: The bed surface, including low spots or a worn-out [Cutting mat], can create inconsistencies.
- Rubber roller: Worn or damage [Roller] will affect application.
What environmental factors should I consider when using the machine?
- Humidity and Temperature: The environment plays a crucial role in vinyl application. Ensure the room is within the recommended temperature and humidity levels. See user manual.
- Dehumidifier: Using a dehumidifier can help maintain optimal conditions.
- Storage: Vinyl material should be stored properly to avoid issues related to moisture absorption, which can cause wrinkling during application.
How should I handle and apply cut vinyl to avoid issues?
Best Practices:
- Timing: Apply the vinyl shortly after it has been peeled to minimize exposure to environmental factors.
- Manual Assistance: When necessary, walk in front of the material and lift it by hand to help it move smoothly.
- Edge Handling: Leave one or both edges of the material “open” (not stuck to the table) during application to reduce tension.
- Crease Management: If a crease starts to form during application, stop and cut the transfer tape to prevent further issues. Restart the application process. (This method is when working with transfer tape, but it is not for laminate applications.)
What tests can I perform to diagnose what is causing the issue with the application result?
- Dry Run: Roll the material without application tape and observe the underlying vinyl. If wrinkles appear during this “dry run,” the issue may lie with the vinyl itself or the machine settings.
- Application Method: Review the application method according to the user manual and ensure that the tape is being applied correctly.
- Surface Test: If the [Cutting mat] is suspected to be the issue, try removing it and applying the material directly on the glass surface [Glass panel].
- Silvering: The adhesive in the laminate need time to settle down, potentially some material up to 48 hours. Speed of the application affects the result a lot, when applying at slow speed the silvering appearance usually much less.
- Material Variation: Try different materials to see if the issue persists across all types. If the problem is consistent, it may be related to the machine.
How can I maintain and clean the machine to prevent these issues?
- See maintenance chapter in user manual for your specific machine.
- Rubber [Roller] Cleaning: Regularly clean the [Roller]. Use original cleaner from ROLLSROLLER®, isopropanol (IPA) or a similar. NOTE! Always perform a test on a small, inconspicuous area to verify that the material is not adversely affected. Use of incorrect cleaning agents may accelerate the aging of the [Roller], causing it to lose its soft properties. If the [Roller] becomes too hard, it must be replaced.
- Surface Inspection: Check for worn [Cutting mat] or low spots on the bed surface [Table top]. Replace the [Cutting mat] if it is worn out or causing issues during application.
Why does the [Roller] drop to the table surface [Table top]?
- The air system contains a very small volume of air, when not being used, the rubber [Roller] will drop to the table surface [Table top] sooner or later. Therefore, we recommend to place the [Roller] in the idle position after use (raised 5mm /0,2in above the table surface [Table top]). If the [Roller] should drop in a few minutes it will affect the handling of the machine.
- Check Air Supply: Ensure that the ROLLSROLLER® is supplied with clean and moisture-free air. Contaminated air can affect the functionality of the pneumatic system.
- Check Pneumatic system: Verify that there are no air leaks in the system. Inspect all connections, hoses, and components for potential damage or loose fittings.
Why do I get static chocks when working on the table surface [Table top]?
Materials that are handled on and around the table will easily become static. Static electricity that is generated during the production process or by simply handling, un-stacking, or wiping the material cannot be eliminated by simple grounding methods. The effects of static electricity are typically worse in the winter, and in areas of the country that have lower amounts of rainfall. The use of HVAC heating units in cold weather can also further lower the relative humidity levels indoors. To control the relative humidity levels in the working area, an investigation of ionization equipment is an option to neutralize the charges.
Where can i find a technician?
